Is that what we need? A SIGN? Something to tell us how to better ourselves and make the most of our lives? Last night as I walked down a busy street in Waikiki, Hawaii, a street preacher had his microphone and was tell everyone who would listen, "Jesus loves you. We need to be the change to help one another."
President Gordan B. Hinkley gave a talk saying, "Each of us can do a little better than we have been doing. We can be a little more kind. We can be a little more merciful. We can be a little more forgiving. We an put behind us our weaknesses of the past, and go forth with new energy and increased resolution to improve the world about us, in our homes, in our places of employment, and in our social activities." How do we edit our lives to become better?
We first need to acknowledge what items in our conduct need to improve. Reflect on your thoughts, actions, and intentions. Based on your reflections, we can set specific goals for improvement. Break these goals down into actionable steps. Prioritizing and focusing on the most important aspects of living the gospel, such as love, kindness, and faithfulness. If we edit these gospel principles in our daily decisions and interactions we will be focused on what really matters. A Christ centered life.
